Reviews for recent concerts
Myriam Hidber Dickinson enchanted the audience with a warm and clear flute sound, with a outstanding technique and rhythmical power. She proved to be a versatile flutist with the capability to interpret both classical European and popular Brazilian compositions.
– Rafael Salgado, Professor for Guitar at the University of Campo Grande, Brazil. Organizer of the concert on the 24th of September 2009 with the university orchestra of Campo Grande.
The flutist Myriam Hidber Dickinson found the unique style of each work she performed – J.S. Bach, B. Godard, C. Franck, G. Donizetti. Walking a fine line between elegance and passion, employing an amazingly inobtrusive breathing technique, she flowed smoothly and with a vast palette of glowing colors through the performance .

Dear Myriam,
Thank you so much to have played for us. It was very beautiful! You certainly have a Brazilian soul! I wish you all the best for Christmas and the New Year.
Yours sincerely,
– Victoria Cleaver, Consul Brazil in Zurich after the concert "Brasil em Cores" in the Helferei Grossmünster in Zurich on December 2009.
Reviews for CD "Jazz Meets Impressionism" (2004)
Sincere thanks and a big compliment on your CD.
You have managed to create something very expressive and enjoyable – Bravo!
– Philippe Racine, flutist and professor at the HMT Zurich, Switzerland.
Many thanks for your wonderful CD. I very much enjoyed listening to it; what struck me in particular was your musicality and your way of dealing with each individual piece!
– Felix Renggli, flutist and professor at the Musikhochschule Basel, Switzerland.
This evening I listened to your CD. I cordially congratulate you. Your vitality, your joy of playing, your boundless temperament, your strength, your emotionally expressive interpretations, are refreshing in today’s “streamlined, hyped up, dust-free and sterile” music circus.
Independent, unconventional, simply distinct – that’s you!!
– Marianne Stucki, Flutist and former professor at the HMT Zurich, Switzerland.
I really like the CD. When I listen to it I can easily imagine her movements and devotion while playing.
– Silvia Walser, Music School Committee Zurich, Switzerland.
This CD has a place of honor in my CD collection and I regularly enjoy listening to it. Piazzolla is one of my favorites. I look forward to further recordings.
– Martin Iarrera, magician. Zurich, Switzerland.
I finally played your CD whilst in an awful bloody traffic jam. It took me three hours to get from London to Brigthon. . . 60 miles, so you can imagine how fed up I was. . . . and then I realized that I had your CD in the car! Perfect timing.
I found it delightful: you have such a lovely sound and just the right amount of vibrato for my taste – I’m not a big fan of the French style of fast vib. My goodness “tricky” isn’t the right word for some of the pieces! Down right difficult is more like it!!! I loved the Debussy and the Nielsen Humoresque I think it was that grabbed me, I will have to have another listen as I couldn’t read all the track nos. properly. Regarding Mike Mower and the Rumbango: I couldn’t understand how you were able to play it, it was so difficult. You have a superb technique with that lovely tone, hats off!
– Mel Collins, Saxophone. Noted London studio musician, working at present in the Köln-Schmitz show.
